1. Act The scene plays in the house of Violetta Valery, a noble prostitute who opens the halls of her Paris house after an illness to receive friends again. Under it Alfredo Germont, a young man, who says to have been a big admirer of her since a long time. Violetta has never thought on account of her occupation to a true love story and is impressed very much by the sincerity from Alfredo to her of brought feeling. 2. Act Violetta has withdrawn from the nice Paris world and now lives with Alfredo in the outskirts. One day, while Alfredo is absent, she is visited by Giorgio Germont, Alfredos father, who asks her to interrupt her love relationship with his son. Giorgio is persuaded that Violetta wants to use the money of Germont, but when the woman shows that has sold all her possessions to maintenance herself and her lover, Giorgio insists on the fact that her scandalous past endangers the marriage of Alfredos sister. In this point Violetta agrees to interrupt the love story although wounded, and flees from home but she forgets a farewell letter on the desk and an invitation for a party which would take place in this evening in Paris. Alfredo notes with his return that he was left and feels from Violetta cheated. He also decides to go to the Paris party. At the party Violetta comes to company one of her old protectors, Baron Douphol, and when Alfredo sees them, he throws her one bag of full money against which he has won just with the play and mocks them before all others. Violetta falls in faint and the baron challenges Alfredo to the duel. 3. Act After a few months Violetta lies in the bed and has hard fallen ill with the consumption. The doctor who was just with her explains that nothing more is to be done and the young woman will die. After this the servant announces the arrival of Alfredo. The man who has found out, in the meantime, the truth from his father asks for forgiveness and explains that he wants to stay with her for ever. Violetta is glad to have him beside and it seems to recover for one moment, but then she breathes her last breath and falls back deadly on the couch. general explanations La Traviata is absolutely one of the best known and most popular works which was to be seen for the first time in 1853 in Venice at the theatre "La Fenice" and achieved no success: The audience whistled the soprano whom Violetta finished playing because she was too meaty to be an ill and dying woman.
